O jogador da NFL que mais faturou é o QB Peyton Manning, ex-Colts e agora no Denver Broncos. Recuperado de uma lesão nas costas, Manning faturou 42,4 milhões nos últimos doze meses, sendo 32 milhões de dólares em salário e 10 com os patrocinadores, entre eles: Reebok, Sony, Directv e Gatorade.
Na sequência da lista aparece o DT Haloti Ngata, do Baltimore Ravens, que recebeu 37,1 milhões de dólares em salários e bônus, além de 200 mil dólares em patrocínios. Logo depois de Ngata aparecem Larry Fitzgerald (Cardinals), Ndamukong Suh (Lions) e Charles Johnson (Panthers).
Para o ano que vem a lista pode alterar bastante, pois alguns jogadores não receberam os bônus que receberam nesta temporada e cair de posição.
A conceituada lista é encabeçada pelos pugilistas Floyd Maywather, que ganhou 85 milhões de dólares, e Manny Pacquiao, que ganhou 62 milhões. Em terceiro lugar aparece o golfista Tiger Woods, com 59,4 milhões de dólares.
Bill Belichick é o técnico mais bem pago
Em maio, a Forbes divulgou a lista dos técnicos mais bem pagos do esporte e o primeiro lugar foi o coach do New England Patriots, Bill Belichick. O curioso nisso é que a revista não tem nem ideia do valor ganho pelo treinador dos Pats, mas estipulou um rendimento de 7,5 milhões para ele, que o coloca em primeiro lugar.
